Greetings from the Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB).
As a professional, I have social and professional responsibilities. After completion of my professional degree, I became a Life Member of the Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB) in 1995. Since 1995 I am directly and indirectly attached with LAB. In this period I was elected several times as the LAB’s Executive Council Member.
As an elected Secretary General for the session 2018-2020, which makes me more responsible to the professional society. In our election manifesto, we gave a few commitment to the professionals. We could not complete all the commitment, but we are trying and did not change our motto and commitment. We are trying positively in a positive way.
In 2010, a large number of Assistant Librarian posts for School Librarian have been created and 2018 a large number of Librarian and Assistant Librarian posts also been created. Fortunately, in 2010 I was elected as Vice President and in 2018 I have been elected as the Secretary General of this association.
Since 1956 LAB has a glorious history and success. Though the profession and professional activities have changed due to the digital environment. Our professionals are also aware of the changing, they are coping up themselves and making them fit. LAB is with the professionals for all time.
We are waiting to see our success. Though Libraries contribution in GDP and contribution in development is invisible. But is have a presence in the development activities. We have a dream to contribute to SOANR BANGLA and Digital Bangladesh.
Long live LAB and Long Live Bangladesh.
